This is a classic and a very old song which I first heard from the singing of Big Joe Williams. It was a huge hit for Van Morrison in the early sixties and has been performed by many of the great blues performers such as Muddy Waters and Lightnin' Hopkins. It is a sister song of an old work song called "Another Man Done Gone" which I recorded on an album called "Lonesome To The Bone" and uses many of the same lyrics.
